When you become a MyQ customer, you select a license plan and a Software Assurance plan, and purchase the required number of licenses. Licenses are assigned to devices but can be transferred between them. Your licensing and Software Assurance are managed through a single Installation Key.
To activate a new installation, add your contact details and Installation Key in MyQ > Settings > License. See License Settings.
License Plans
Your license plan defines your MyQ X edition and commercial model.
From MyQ X 10.3, the ULTIMATE license plan is retired. Customers with the legacy ULTIMATE license plan are automatically migrated to the ENTERPRISE plan with the corresponding number of Embedded licenses.

Licenses
Licenses determine how many devices and provisioning profiles you can activate. You cannot exceed the available license count. When you deactivate a device, its license becomes available to use on another device.
Devices used for monitoring only are unlimited, but the server must have at least one Embedded or Embedded Lite activation available. Single-function printers consume one Embedded Lite activation.
|
License |
What It Activates |
|---|---|
|
Embedded |
The MyQ X Embedded Terminal on one multi-function printer, including Smart Workflows (ScannerVision). |
|
Embedded Lite |
Any Embedded Lite terminal or device assigned to a Release Station. An Embedded Lite license consumes half of one Embedded license; the License widget shows this as fractional usage (for example, 0.5 of 52). |
|
Embedded Ultimate |
All Embedded features, plus Scan Review. |
|
Printer Provisioning Profile |
A single printer provisioning profile, which lets you deploy one or more printers (queues) to client workstations. Additional profiles let you deploy printers to different groups of users or computers. |
Software Assurance
Software Assurance allows you to upgrade your MyQ system, open support cases with the MyQ support team, and more. Standard, Premium, and Premium Plus plans are available.
-
Subscription licenses include Standard Software Assurance by default. To upgrade to a higher plan, contact your MyQ supplier.
-
For perpetual licenses, Software Assurance must be purchased separately through your MyQ supplier.
The License widget shows your current Software Assurance plan and expiration date.
Installation Key
Each MyQ X deployment uses one Installation Key, whether it consists of a standalone Print Server or a Central Server with multiple Site Servers. The key is issued through the MyQ Community directly or through your MyQ supplier, and contains information about your:
-
license plan
-
licenses
-
software assurance plan
New licenses and software assurance extensions or upgrades are added to the existing Installation Key and synchronized to your MyQ installation.
