Migrating MyQ to a different server requires license reactivation. Valid Software Assurance is required for migration.
Follow the standard server migration procedure to install MyQ on the new server and restore the database backup from the old server. You must activate the license on the new server within 10 days.
Never run the old and new MyQ servers with the same database at the same time.
After restoring the database:
-
On the old server, stop all MyQ services and set their startup type to Disabled. This prevents the server from attempting to reactivate after a restart.
-
On the new server, generate a Helpdesk support file in MyQ > Log > Tools > Generate data for support.
-
For an offline deployment, generate a support file on the old server as well.
-
In the MyQ Helpdesk partner portal, create a License issue support request and attach the support file or files.
-
After the reactivation request is approved, go to MyQ > Settings > License on the new server and activate the Installation Key.
The license on the old server is deactivated within 10 days.
