macOS Support Warning for Intel-Based Apps

Some users may see a macOS warning when opening MyQ Desktop Client or MyQ Roger Client on Mac computers with Apple silicon. This warning appears because the application currently runs through Rosetta 2, Apple’s compatibility layer for Intel-based Mac applications. It does not mean that the application is unsafe, broken, or no longer supported.

You can dismiss the warning and continue using the application normally.

Apple has announced that Rosetta 2 support for Intel-based applications will be phased out in a future macOS version. Based on Apple’s current macOS release plans, macOS 26 Tahoe and macOS 27 are expected to continue supporting Rosetta 2. General-purpose Rosetta 2 support is expected to end starting with macOS 28.

MyQ is aware of this change and is preparing native Apple Silicon (ARM64) versions of MyQ Desktop Client and MyQ Roger Client which are planned for release by June 2027. These versions will remove the dependency on Rosetta 2.

Who Is Affected?

This notice applies only to users running MyQ Desktop Client or MyQ Roger Client on Apple Silicon Macs, such as Macs with M1, M2, M3, or later processors.

Windows devices and Intel-based Macs are not affected by this Apple platform change.

What Should Administrators Do?

No immediate action is required.

Administrators can inform users that the macOS warning can be dismissed and that MyQ client applications can continue to be used normally. Organizations planning future macOS upgrades should monitor MyQ release information for native Apple silicon versions of MyQ client applications as they become available.
