Multi-domain and Multi-tenant Environments
You may need to manage different users, from different local Active Directory domains or multiple Azure Entra ID tenants, in one MyQ X installation. MyQ X gives you a solution which allows you to do so simply.
When Are These Solutions Necessary?
We find that requirements for multi-domain or multi-tenant environments are becoming increasingly common. In general, domain environments are becoming more complex, with a greater need for robust fallback solutions.
When two or more organizations merge, such as when a company is acquired by another one, these solutions can be essential. They are now integrating their infrastructure, security, email accounts, and everything else into a one entry-point solution. One of the steps is to move all employees to a single print server while keeping old accounts from the previous company’s domain functional.
An organization may still require its legacy domains and systems to be operable while moving to a new solution, cloud provider, etc. And this makes perfect sense since any change in infrastructure can involve difficulties and complications. Usually, it is done in phases and may take months or years.
To enable cross-organization collaboration and access. For example, if a company has multiple subsidiaries or partners that need to share documents and resources, they may want to use a common print system that can authenticate and authorize users from different domains or tenants. This way, they can avoid creating duplicate accounts or managing multiple print systems for each domain or tenant.
This also introduces some challenges and risks concerning security, compliance, and governance, that need to be addressed by the print system administrator.
