Before you can start using the terminal, you need to change multiple settings of the printing device:

Set additional parameters to be provided in the PJL header

To be able to print a job on the Ricoh SmartSDK device, you have to ensure that the print job PRN file contains the following three PJL commands:

  • @PJL SET AUTHENTICATIONUSERNAMECHARSET = 2

  • @PJL SET AUTHENTICATIONUSERNAME = "1"

  • @PJL SET AUTHENTICATIONPASSWORD = "1"

PJL header parameters in the PRN file

There are two ways of adding the commands to the PRN file. If you solely use Ricoh devices, the easiest way is to download and configure a Ricoh driver. If you use devices of more vendors, you can use any print driver and add the PJL commands to the job processing options of the print queue.

In case you want to use the Job Roaming feature on MyQ site servers, you need to manually add the PJL commands to the job processing options of the MyQ print queue.

Download and configure the Ricoh PCL 6 driver

  1. Download Ricoh Universal Driver version 4.10.0.0 or newer and create a new printer for printing to MyQ.

  2. In the driver settings, enable user authentication and set up credentials.

    1. On the Devices and Printers Windows control panel, right-click the Ricoh driver, and then click Printer properties on the shortcut menu. The Ricoh driver dialog box appears.
